Large worship and community spaces are among the most demanding AV environments. They are often acoustically challenging, serve large and varied audiences, and the clarity of the spoken word genuinely matters to the people present.
The core challenges
- Highly reverberant spaces with hard surfaces
- Even coverage across very large seating areas
- Clear speech intelligibility as the priority
- Discreet equipment that respects the architecture
- Reliability for daily and large-gathering use
Sound first
Intelligible speech is the priority, which means a loudspeaker system carefully modelled and tuned for the space, often with distributed speakers so everyone hears clearly without the system being painfully loud at the front.
Vision and streaming
Displays for text and image magnification, and cameras for recording and streaming, extend the experience to overflow spaces and those joining remotely. Designing these in respects both the architecture and the congregation.
